The Procedure:
Common areas of treatment with liposuction in New
York City include the thighs, hips, abdomen and waist,
neck, and arms. The procedure begins with a minor incision
in the area of treatment, through which a tubular device
is inserted. With a machine at the opposing end, a
vacuum is created to suck out the unwanted fat and
surrounding liquid. The small incision usually leaves
very minimal scarring.
Risks:
All surgical procedures involve a degree of risk. Patients
pursuing liposuction in New York City, however,
can better avoid these risks through awareness and
patient/doctor communication. Some of the possible
risks associated with New York City liposuction
are bleeding, infection, asymmetry, or bagginess of
skin in the area of treatment
Recovery:
Most New York City liposuction patients are back to
work in about 1-2 weeks after having surgery. It
will usually be a full 2-4 weeks after surgery before
anything of a more strenous nature can be attempted,
and after several months or sometimes up to 6 or
more, bruising and swelling should be completely
faded.
Additional Options:
Plenty of women pursue just liposuction in New York
City, as a stand alone procedure. However, the results
can
be
further
enhanced
when performed
in conjunction
with another cosmetic procedure. Many New York City
liposuction patients combine the procedure with tummy
tuck, thigh or buttock lift, or a breast procedure.
